Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Foundational understanding of electrical circuits, power systems, electronics, and control systems.
  • Working knowledge of CAD tools (AutoCAD, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or equivalent).
  • Basic familiarity with test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and mathematical skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of the FE exam (Fundamentals of Engineering)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency in tools like Word (for reports/docs), Excel (for BOMs, calculations, data analysis), PowerPoint (for presentations/reviews), and Outlook (for communication/vendor coordination) are expected.
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities involving fast iterations, shifting requirements, and adapting to testing/vendor feedback.

  • Skills such as power distribution knowledge and electrical engineering principles to design and analyze complex electrical systems ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and ETAP enables the engineer to create precise electrical schematics and perform detailed system simulations and fault analyses.
  • Understanding of high and medium voltage systems, along with protective relay coordination, is critical for developing protection schemes that prevent equipment damage and ensure personnel safety.
  • PCB layout skills support the design of custom electrical components and control boards integral to system functionality.
  • Preferred skills like PE licensure and familiarity with industry standards enhance the engineer’s ability to lead projects, ensure compliance, and implement best practices in electrical design and system protection.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of electrical systems, circuits, schematics, and layouts.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, Revit, or similar).
  • Support testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical components, systems, and prototypes.
  • Conduct basic calculations such as load flow, short circuit analysis, voltage drop, or power distribution.
  • Assist in ensuring designs comply with standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE, UL, IEC).
  • Work with vendors, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to support component selection, resolve technical issues, review specifications, and ensure timely delivery of materials and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, manufacturing, software, or project teams.
  • Support project planning, reporting, and documentation activities as required.
  • Maintain organized project files, test data, and engineering change logs.
  • Continuously develop technical skills and stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
