A full service Mechanical and Electrical Consulting Engineering firm located in Somerville, NJ is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team. The company is a recognized leader for progressive & sustainable design and energy management solutions. Their core focus has been energy efficiency, including audits, modeling, commissioning and sustainability consulting. The ideal candidate will have the ability to design lighting and power distribution systems for complex commercial and industrial buildings, and has an understanding of energy use and conservation measures.
Responsibilities
- Design building power distribution systems
- Design building interior and exterior lighting systems
- Design building fire detection systems
- Design building telephone and data distribution systems
- Provide technical clarification of designs
- Communicate with architects, contractors, owners, other designers, and external consultants
- Monitor electrical construction progress
- Review shop drawings
- Conduct field investigations and prepare reports for electrical issues
- Cost estimating and equipment selection
