About The Position

Highr1 is proud to represent an exciting opportunity in the luxury yacht community, where engineering meets craftsmanship at the highest level. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer who thrives in a technical, hands-on environment. You’ll design, implement, and troubleshoot advanced marine electrical systems for luxury boats, supporting power generation, lighting, control systems, and safety systems. This is not a production-line job; it’s an opportunity to apply elite-level electrical skills in a field where precision and quality are everything. Navy Nukes and veterans with strong electrical troubleshooting experience are highly encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred (President’s request), but we’ll advocate for exceptional Navy Nukes without a degree who can prove their electrical expertise
  • Willingness to complete ABYC certification within the first 100 days (critical for long-term success)
  • Strong troubleshooting and study skills , ABYC is rigorous and designed for sharp technical minds
  • CAD experience (especially 2D) is a plus but not required

Nice To Haves

  • Navy Nuke (EMN, ETN, MMN) or equivalent technical veteran
  • Experience in electrical systems troubleshooting , ideally with 12-24VDC and 110/220VAC systems
  • Comfortable working in dynamic, hands-on, and high-quality engineering environments

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems on luxury boats (12-24VDC and 110/220VAC)
  • Create electrical schematics, wiring harnesses, and layouts optimized for production and performance
  • Work with the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) teams to streamline electrical runs and ensure manufacturing accuracy
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of electrical systems for new builds
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions, applying diagnostics and corrective actions
  • Maintain compliance with marine electrical standards (ISO, ABYC, NMMA)
  • Prepare documentation , including schematics, technical reports, and maintenance logs for audits and inspections
  • Manage electrical engineering projects , meeting deadlines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Stay current with innovations in marine electrical technology and recommend improvements
