About The Position

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer supporting the Training Division (AFLCMC/WNR) at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah. The WNR Division serves as the Air Force’s technical, acquisition, and sustainment authority, delivering comprehensive and mission-critical support to the warfighter. The division oversees a wide range of Air Force systems including Electronic Warfare, Range Systems, Air Combat Training, Command and Control Systems, Advanced Radar Threat Systems, and Combat Survivor Evader Locator systems. WNR also supports depot-level sustainment and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs for the U.S. Air Force and partner organizations including the U.S. Army, Navy, PACAF, ACC, AFMC, and AETC. This role provides electrical engineering and systems engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle under an Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure, ensuring Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) is incorporated into all activities.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must hold an active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3 years of experience in the respective discipline, including 3 years in the DoD, OR 7 years of directly related experience, including 5 years in the DoD
  • Experience and/or training in: Electrical circuit analysis
  • Experience and/or training in: RF chain specialties (antenna design, high-power transmitters/amplifiers, receiver processing)
  • Experience and/or training in: Electro-mechanical controls
  • Experience and/or training in: Modeling and simulation in electrical engineering applications
  • Experience and/or training in: Hands-on electrical system test and evaluation
  • Experience and/or training in: Foreign Ground Radar systems or related DoD applications
  • Experience and/or training in: DoD acquisition processes including technical data package development, sustainment, and configuration management principles
  • Familiarity With: Electronic Warfare and/or Air Combat Operations
  • Familiarity With: Live aircrew training and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) development
  • Familiarity With: Range infrastructure architectures and systems
  • Familiarity With: Foreign ground radar technologies

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a professional engineering discipline with at least 3 years of experience in the respective discipline, including 3 years in the DoD
  • Degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Position supports Foreign Military Sales (FMS) workload (FMS experience preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct systems engineering reviews and analyses across all lifecycle phases including concept development, engineering and manufacturing development, production, deployment, and operations & support
  • Translate DoD user requirements into system requirements to guide design, development, fabrication, and evaluation efforts
  • Review system design baselines to assess architecture and interoperability requirements
  • Support development of system specifications and architecture documentation
  • Analyze engineering change proposals, specifications, and vendor submissions and provide recommendations to the Government
  • Apply electrical engineering principles to system design, validation, and performance assessment
  • Conduct lifecycle cost evaluations of systems and components
  • Support risk tracking, issue resolution, and technical working groups
  • Contribute to technical planning documentation and alternative solution evaluations
  • Assist with T&E planning, execution, analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with operational requirements
  • Evaluate availability and capability of DoD and civilian test resources
  • Coordinate scheduling and utilization of required test assets
  • Design, document, and support execution of certification and compliance activities
  • Provide engineering support for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) efforts as required
  • Support program objectives in alignment with acquisition and sustainment milestones
