About The Position

Introduction: Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Electrical Engineer position. This position is a expected to be on-site in Lake Mary, FL. Summary: This position involves contributing to the design, development, and integration of electrical systems for advanced laser and control technologies, collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams. The role reports to the Technical Program Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with electrical design tools.
  • Hands-on experience with digital and analog electronics, lasers, laser controls and drives, PC-based controls, servos, and circuit board design.
  • Programming experience in Visual Basic, C, and/or C++.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Apply expertise in digital and analog electronics, lasers, laser controls and drives, PC-based controls, and servos.
  • Design electronic circuit boards, select components, and perform verification testing of analog and digital circuits.
  • Contribute directly to design verification and system-level integration of analog and digital electronic subsystems.
  • Utilize programming skills in Visual Basic, C, and/or C++.
  • Collaborate with optical, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop new products in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop, review, and approve electrical design packages, including power distribution, grounding, lighting, controls, instrumentation, and motor control systems.
  • Prepare electrical specifications through project completion.
  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance, resolve field issues, and review contractor submittals, drawings, and RFIs.
  • Coordinate contract documents across engineering disciplines and architectural details.
  • Perform load calculations, arc flash analysis, and short-circuit/coordination studies.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments.
  • Perform drafting and design tasks independently using SolidWorks.
  • Support procurement activities, including technical evaluations of vendor packages and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, as-builts, and project records.
  • Apply strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and power distribution systems.
