The Electrical Engineer will design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) additive manufacturing equipment. This role involves creating robust electrical architecture, selecting components, and ensuring seamless integration with mechanical and software systems. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, reliable, and compliant LPBF products. This position requires a solid knowledge of engineering principles and additive production processes.

  • Design and develop electrical systems for LPBF machines, including power distribution and control circuits
  • Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts for system components
  • Select and qualify electrical components to meet performance and reliability requirements
  • Integrate electrical systems with mechanical and software subsystems for optimal functionality
  • Conduct electrical testing, troubleshooting, and validation of LPBF equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to resolve design challenges and optimize system performance
  • Support manufacturing and assembly teams with electrical documentation and technical guidance
  • Participate in design reviews and risk assessments for electrical systems
  • Drive continuous improvement in electrical design processes and component selection
  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design for industrial or complex systems
  • Familiarity with laser/optical systems, LPBF or additive manufacturing technologies
  • Proficiency in electrical CAD tools (EPLAN preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, sensors, and control systems
  • Experience with PLCs, embedded systems, and communication protocols
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards and regulatory compliance (UL, CE, NFPA)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in complex systems
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven flexibility with shifting priorities
