DISHER is partnering with an engineering-forward architecture firm to add an Electrical Engineer to their team in Lansing, MI. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related discipline) required.
  • Approximately 1–3 years of experience in building electrical design (power and lighting), or strong internships/co-ops in similar work; training and mentorship are available.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for electrical design; familiarity with lighting calculation software is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to function effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Interest in pursuing EIT/PE and continued professional growth; the company supports licensure and continuing education.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical power, lighting, and communication systems for a variety of building and facility projects.
  • Produce detailed plans, specifications, schematics, one-line diagrams, and construction documents.
  • Help define electrical scope, estimate materials and labor, and support project planning.
  • Use engineering and design software to perform calculations and develop coordinated electrical layouts.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to address design needs and resolve questions.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and specific client requirements.
  • Support site visits and field coordination as appropriate, gaining exposure to how designs perform in the real world.
