About The Position

The Electrical Engineer position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group’s quickly growing Boston area Outsourced Technical Services(OTS) team at a client site in the Greater Boston area. Outsourced Technical Services (OTS) is an integral part of PM Group’s ability to support clients across the complete project life cycle. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support a major pharmaceutical R&D lab construction project. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality, compliance, and technical integrity of all electrical systems installed on-site. This role involves weekly site presence, document reviews, coordination with contractors, and providing expert technical guidance during construction. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on construction or site-based roles.
  • Proven experience supporting pharmaceutical or biotech construction projects, especially R&D lab builds or cleanroom facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices (NEC, NFPA 70/72, IEEE, ISA).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach within multidisciplinary teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
  • Experience with automation environments or GMP compliance is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary electrical engineering representative at the construction site.
  • Review and approve electrical design documents, shop drawings, and submittals for compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements.
  • Conduct regular site visits to observe electrical installations, ensuring adherence to design intent, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, design engineers, and client representatives to resolve technical issues during construction.
  • Support system commissioning, testing, and qualification phases for electrical and automation systems.
  • Ensure all electrical systems meet pharmaceutical and lab facility requirements including redundancy, clean power, and safety compliance (NFPA, NEC, IEC).
  • Provide field engineering support for R&D lab build projects, including power distribution, lighting, controls, communication systems, and cleanroom utilities.
  • Reports progress, risks, and observations on a weekly basis to the project management and engineering teams.
