You will work under the mentorship of senior engineers to solve technical challenges that directly impact national security, ensuring the reliability and safety of critical infrastructure and maritime systems.

Requirements

• 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field. Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance.
• Candidate must possess strong listening, written, and oral communication skills.
• Candidate must have the ability to evaluate technical documentation for adherence to policies, plans, procedures, and management requirements.
• Candidate must have the ability to work independently and coordinate project work with little to no supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Prior Navy nuclear propulsion experience, DOE or commercial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, software systems, and networks.
• Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
