About The Position

The Electrical Engineer will support the design, testing, and production of secure hardware systems used in OPSWAT’s cybersecurity product lines. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in hardware development, electronics testing, and secure manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with two years of related experience.
  • Understanding of circuits, electronics, PCB design, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read schematics and follow technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with embedded systems or microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, ESP32, etc.).
  • Exposure to PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, OrCAD, etc.).
  • Internship or project experience in hardware design or testing.
  • Knowledge of hardware manufacturing, QA, or cybersecurity hardware concepts.
  • Familiar with power electronics.
  • Computer Science skills.
  • IT Server builds and related components.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with electrical design, schematic review, and PCB layout verification.
  • Perform hardware testing, validation, and troubleshooting of prototypes and production units.
  • Support firmware/hardware integration efforts with senior engineers.
  • Create and update engineering documents, test reports, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
  • Work hands-on in OPSWAT’s hardware test lab and manufacturing environment.
  • Help evaluate components, suppliers, and hardware assemblies for reliability and quality.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective-action processes for hardware issues.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and supply-chain teams to ensure hardware meets security and performance standards.
  • Assist with hands-on tasks, such as crimping, soldering, and harness design.
