About The Position
Riverside Research is an independent National Security Nonprofit dedicated to research and development in the national interest. We provide high-end technical services, research and development, and prototype solutions to some of the country’s most challenging technical problems. Position Overview Riverside Research’s Intelligence and Defense Solutions Directorate has a potential full-time opening in the Dayton, Ohio area for a Facilities Electrical Engineer position. This position will support the National Space and Intelligence Center at WPAFB Dayton, Ohio by ensuring a large staff population and their facilities have a safe electrical supply as well as backup systems for redundancies.
Requirements
- Must have a current Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
- BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited engineering program
- 5 + years facility experience
- Knowledge of construction, maintenance and contracting management
- Knowledge of power distribution and high reliability
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Must be able to work independently and with a team
- Familiarity with NEC and NFPA 70E requirements
- Project coordination skills.
- Estimating skills to produce budgets with a +/-20% accuracy.
- Superior communications skills, written and verbal
- Ability to work on multiple project simultaneously (multi-tasking)
Nice To Haves
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License
- 10+ years facility experience
- Experience with Government/Military
- Industrial Controls knowledge
- Familiar with Fire Alarm systems design requirements
- Experience with SKM systems analysis software
- Experience with electrical preventative maintenance and plan development
- Cross-functional engineering discipline knowledge (including mechanical systems) a plus
- Familiarity with Federal Government contracting and project flow
Responsibilities
- Function as an advocate and SME for the resident mission on WPAFB including local power companies and Base Engineering
- Review new facility electrical plans
- Overseeing projects with electrical backgrounds
- Assisting with operations, breaker and generator testing, and building systems
- Prepare electrical installation drawings for area renovations of existing facilities
- Other duties as assigned
