About The Position

Riverside Research is an independent National Security Nonprofit dedicated to research and development in the national interest. We provide high-end technical services, research and development, and prototype solutions to some of the country’s most challenging technical problems. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship. Position Overview Riverside Research’s Intelligence and Defense Solutions Directorate has a potential full-time opening in the Dayton, Ohio area for a Facilities Electrical Engineer position. This position will support the National Space and Intelligence Center at WPAFB Dayton, Ohio by ensuring a large staff population and their facilities have a safe electrical supply as well as backup systems for redundancies.

Requirements

  • Must have a current Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
  • BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited engineering program
  • 5 + years facility experience
  • Knowledge of construction, maintenance and contracting management
  • Knowledge of power distribution and high reliability
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team
  • Familiarity with NEC and NFPA 70E requirements
  • Project coordination skills.
  • Estimating skills to produce budgets with a +/-20% accuracy.
  • Superior communications skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work on multiple project simultaneously (multi-tasking)

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License
  • 10+ years facility experience
  • Experience with Government/Military
  • Industrial Controls knowledge
  • Familiar with Fire Alarm systems design requirements
  • Experience with SKM systems analysis software
  • Experience with electrical preventative maintenance and plan development
  • Cross-functional engineering discipline knowledge (including mechanical systems) a plus
  • Familiarity with Federal Government contracting and project flow

Responsibilities

  • Function as an advocate and SME for the resident mission on WPAFB including local power companies and Base Engineering
  • Review new facility electrical plans
  • Overseeing projects with electrical backgrounds
  • Assisting with operations, breaker and generator testing, and building systems
  • Prepare electrical installation drawings for area renovations of existing facilities
  • Other duties as assigned
