About The Position

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for electrical system design, project estimation, bidding, arc flash studies, data collection, one-line diagram development, and occasional hands-on electrical work for Rumpke owned facilities, equipment, and projects across residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple projects
  • Capable of using electrical testing equipment and standard tools
  • Ability to work at heights and in various environments with appropriate safety equipment
  • Proficiency with EasyPower software for system modeling, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies
  • Strong ability to collect field data and create code compliant one line diagrams using AutoCAD, EasyPower or similar tools
  • Thorough knowledge of National Electrical Codes, NFPA 70E, 70B and OSHA regulations
  • 5 years of experience in electrical engineering and project estimating experience in commercial and/or industrial environments
  • Experience in use of EasyPower software and arc flash hazard analysis and labeling
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language

Nice To Haves

  • Motor control and VFD experience is a plus
  • Previous supervisory or lead role on electrical projects is a plus. Experience in waste/recycling or heavy industrial facilities is a plus
  • Experience using electrical bidding/estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, ConEst, Electrical Bid Manger, or similar platform
  • Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) on track for PE or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical designs, load calculations, and system analyses using EasyPower software
  • Conduct arc flash hazard analyses, generate reports, and recommend mitigation measures in compliance with NFPA 70E, 70B and IEEE standards
  • Conduct site visits to collect field data, verify existing conditions, and develop accurate one-line diagrams and riser diagrams
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive bids using electrical bidding/estimating software
  • Travel to project sites to assess scope, meet with customers or contractors, and submit bids on new opportunities
  • Perform small electrical fill in work, troubleshooting, and minor installations as needed to support ongoing operations
  • Review contractor submittals and coordinate with Electrical Department Manager on larger projects
  • Ensure all designs, estimates, and installations comply with National Electrical Code, OSHA regulations, and company standards
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, time sheets, and cost tracking records
  • Professional interaction with internal teams, external customers, and contractors
  • Maintain open communication with the Electrical Department Manager
  • Follow all company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
