We are committed to technological innovation and excellence in everything we do. YAGEO is seeking an Electrical Engineer in the San Diego, CA area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Knowledge of material selection, including ferrites, wire, PCB, and SMT components.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical simulation tools such as P-Spice, Ansys HFSS, and AutoCad.
  • Familiarity with test equipment, including network analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Strong background in product quality, failure analysis, and compliance to industry’s quality standards, such as IATF-16949.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 1+ years experience in electrical design of magnetics and/or radio frequency (RF) products preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design custom magnetics (Transformers and Chokes) in various mechanical platforms (plastic package, connectors, etc.) to meet system performance goals for data communication products.
  • Model, evaluate designs and test new products to comply with specifications.
  • Evaluate and improve current designs and processes, while providing plant support on new and existing designs.
  • Attend program, staff, company and design review meetings.
  • Attend IEEE, ISO and other standard compliance training, as needed.
  • Prepare documentation, including component, subassembly, top-level assembly drawings, ECNs, AVLs, Failure Analysis reports, etc.
  • Daily communication with cross-functional teams to create new designs and bring products to market.
  • Work with customers and factory to perform failure analysis as required.
