Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM discipline
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required at time of hire
  • Understanding of analog and digital circuit design fundamentals
  • Interest or experience in hands-on PCB and hardware development
  • Ability to support debugging and lab-based testing

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework, internship, co-op, or project experience in PCB design and development
  • Experience with schematic capture tools (e.g., OrCAD Capture, Altium Designer, KiCad)
  • Understanding of PCB layout fundamentals, including trace width, impedance control, and stack-up
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools (LTSpice, PSpice, or similar)
  • Familiarity with power supply design (linear regulators, DC-DC converters)
  • Knowledge of signal integrity and high-speed design concepts
  • Experience interpreting component datasheets and performing part selection
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators)
  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes, DFM, and IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-2222)
  • Exposure to thermal management, EMI/EMC, and heat dissipation techniques
  • Familiarity with digital interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, USB)
  • Exposure to microcontrollers or embedded systems
  • Senior design project involving custom PCB development

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop PCBs for power systems and electronic assemblies
  • Create schematics, perform component selection, and generate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Collaborate with PCB layout engineers to optimize component placement, routing, signal integrity, and thermal performance
  • Support circuit simulation and analysis using SPICE-based tools
  • Assist with PCB bring-up, testing, debugging, and design verification
  • Generate and maintain design documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, and specifications
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate technical feedback
  • Support integration and testing of circuit cards into higher-level assemblies
  • Apply IPC standards and best practices for PCB design and manufacturing
  • Interface with mechanical, test, and manufacturing engineering teams
