About The Position

This position is with the Electrical Engineering department of Haas Automation. The opening is to support engineering, ensure components are reliable and effective, find alternate sources and track component qualifications. Responsible for strategic sourcing and establishes standards for components with development teams.

Requirements

  • Areas of experience include; Applications engineer, Distribution or Technical Sales.
  • Applicant should understand the basic operation concepts of electrical components.
  • Applicant should be able to compare physical and operational differences between parts.
  • Obsolescence tracking and avoidance using software-based tools.
  • Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents; such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Have ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.
  • Able to speak effectively before groups, customers, and/or employees of the organization.
  • Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • May need to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions such as mathematical and/or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Review BOM’s for obsolescence.
  • Support design teams in the selection of electronic components.
  • Drive qualifications of EOL/Obsolete component solutions.
  • Investigate and promote alternative solutions.
  • Facilitate communication and interactions between suppliers and design teams.
  • Conduct failure analysis/corrective action with suppliers.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving manufacturing problems.
  • Manage approved vendor list.
  • Manage / create standard processes where needed.
  • Conduct part lifecycle analysis.
  • Flag in-accurate component specification data and correct it.
  • Analyze component failure trends
  • Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc.
  • Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.
