About The Position

To assist in designing new products and improving existing products in accordance with Pride’s procedures and protocols

Requirements

  • Must be a team player, friendly, professional, detail-oriented and honest
  • Must have the ability to: Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
  • Use electrical tools (i.e. multi-meter, oscilloscope, soldering iron and crimp tools), hand tools and standard power tools
  • Read and comprehend work instructions
  • Prepare and present summary reports
  • Must have: Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Basic mathematical and reading skills
  • Basic understanding of electrical and control circuits
  • No experience required
  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Prospective interns must: Be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
  • Be at least in the equivalency of successfully completing Sophomore year of college before starting the internship
  • Work on-site in the Duryea, Pennsylvania facility full-time for a minimum of 1 summer OR work part-time for a minimum of 1 school semester

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift/push/pull 40 lbs. preferred
  • Provide approval documents from their college or university to receive college credit Preferred
  • Ability to work continuously on-site in the Duryea, Pennsylvania facility full-time and/or part-time for 2 or more summers or school semesters preferred
  • Current or previous successful internship experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers with the daily activities such as prototype building, troubleshooting or code development
  • Assist in developing Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and meet cost restraints
  • Assist with OrCAD Capture and Allegro Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Editor for electronic circuit design and PCB layout
  • Assist engineers with new schematic symbol and PCB footprint creation
  • Assist in through-hole and surface mount soldering
  • Assist in ensuring designs’ safety, effectiveness, manufacturability, reliability, and Superior Product at Reduced Cost (SPARC) initiatives are met
  • Assist in performing inspections, verifications and validation testing
  • Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
  • Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
  • Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
  • Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary
