Your Opportunity Stantec is looking for an Electrical Engineering Intern to join the Electrical & Controls Team of our BC2350 Facilities and Process Engineering Group for the summer of 2026, based out of the Minneapolis, MN area. In this role, you will work closely with engineers, designers, and business professionals primarily on industrial manufacturing and/or food-based projects.

Requirements

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with both clients and project team members, with a strong customer service attitude.
  • Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining project files and information received from clients and vendors.
  • Basic understanding of task hour estimating and being accountable for personal hour budgets.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.
  • Currently enrolled in a four-year (minimum) engineering program in an appropriately related discipline, such as electrical engineering

Nice To Haves

  • 0-2 years of relevant engineering intern experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Electrical & Controls Engineering team, including learning to read and extract relevant data out of P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), electrical/controls vendor schematics, and ultimately learning to develop electrical contractor installation packages.
  • This would include learning how to size and select electrical equipment and cables, to meet both client specifications and the NEC (National Electrical Code).
