About The Position

The Electrical Designer collaborates with automation engineers and panel shop to deliver customized industrial panel solutions that meet customer requirements. Focus on completing assigned project tasks and working closely with your team. Develop your technical skills and knowledge to improve your capabilities in providing solutions.

Requirements

Associates degree in Mechatronics or equivalent experience required.
Experience with CAD e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to travel to customer and vendor facilities; approximately 10% travel required.
Must be a good fit culturally for a family-owned enterprise.

Nice To Haves

Current electrical license preferred.
Background or training in industrial control systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Build, configure, and troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic systems safely.
Build, configure, and troubleshoot sensors, instruments, valves, and VFDs.
Design, build, configure, and troubleshoot control, IO, drive, network, and HMI panels.
Work with Panel Shop to build industrial panels.
Review panel builds to verify alignment.
Assist others in PLC and HMI installation.
Assist others in network equipment installation.
Follow all MG Newell and customer safe work practices while on site and in the shop.
Assist others in the quoting, planning, build, and commission phases of a project.
Perform design, test and closing phase tasks assigned by the project lead.
Regularly attend internal project meetings.
Provide detailed work performed documentation.
Develop drawing packages for use in reviews, construction, and turnover packages.
Remain up to date on safety training and certification.
Submit weekly timesheets accurately and on time.
Follow MG Newell procedures.
Detail oriented in all work.
