About The Position

HFA is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with strong Construction Administration (CA) experience who enjoys being close to the work in the field. This role is ideal for someone who’s confident collaborating with contractors, understands how designs translate into construction, and is comfortable traveling to support projects. You’ll work closely with Electrical Engineers and Design Leads to deliver high-quality construction documents and provide hands-on support throughout the construction phase. Requirements

  • Proficiency with Revit software.
  • Ability to train and mentor newer staff on company standards, drafting techniques, and basic code application
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with contractors in the field
  • BSEE or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Electrical Engineers and Design Leads to deliver complete construction documents across a variety of project types
  • Provide construction administration support, including field coordination and contractor communication
  • Independently develop and draft electrical designs for most projects or major project components
  • Solve medium to complex design challenges and contribute technical solutions throughout the project lifecycle
  • Apply working knowledge of the NEC and national electrical standards with minimal oversight on simple projects
  • Assist with client communication and, in some cases, maintain direct client contact
  • Collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams in a highly integrated environment
  • Develop power and lighting designs with a basic understanding of applicable energy codes
  • Perform fault current calculations, develop 1-Line diagrams, and support simple electrical systems with minimal supervision
  • Select lighting systems and controls; apply basic photometric calculations
  • Edit specifications for small to mid-size projects
  • Maintain a high level of quality control on your own work and occasionally assist with peer reviews
  • Work within established project budgets and, depending on assignment, support the financial success of projects
