About The Position

As an Electrical Design Engineer in Burnsville, MN, you may: create schematics for electrical power systems, control systems, and Printed-Circuit-Board-(PCB)-based designs; specify, source, and test electrical components; utilize your proficiency and knowledge to design electrical power systems and generators, considering distribution transformers, breakers, and other components within a distribution system; use knowledge and experience in electrical safety, including low-voltage AC systems and medium voltage systems; work in iterative planning, prototyping, and validation testing of designs; be proficient with common laboratory equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition devices, and work collaboratively with suppliers and other Applied partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • A minimum of one year of previous engineering experience; internships and co-ops can be considered for this position
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SolidWorks Electrical strongly preferred
  • Experience crafting Bills of Materials (BOMs) for a product
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code, derivative standards, and codes for grid-connected systems
  • Knowledge of power systems is strongly preferred
