Ecolab is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician to join our team in Garland, TX . As a Controls Technician, you will be an integral part of the plant Maintenance team that maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots automated production equipment. How You'll Make An Impact: Provide daily operational support for control systems across the facility Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and other automation components Support S.C.A.D.A engineering (AVEVA) Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues quickly and effectively Participate in control system upgrades, process improvement initiatives, and capital projects Support installation and commissionin g of new equipment and system upgrades Perform preventive maintenance and document all work performed Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation Ensure compliance with Ecolab’s safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Position Details: Plant Location: Garland, TX Work Week & Shift: 2nd shift, 1:30PM - 9:30 PM Monday to Friday

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in controls or automation in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • 2 years of experience with PLC programming, HMI interfaces, and industrial networks
  • Understanding of electrical systems and instrumentation
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and schematics in English
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
  • Work in an industrial environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and chemical processes
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and on elevated platforms
  • Ability to follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE

Nice To Haves

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Electrical Technology, Industrial Automation, or Instrumentation & Control Technology
  • Experience in chemical, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
  • Experience with Rockwall Automation
  • Experience with SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E and NEC standards
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Solid track record of VFDs motor control
  • Solid track record of troubleshooting instrumentation
  • Solid knowledge of safety circuits both hardware and software
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design tools
  • Familiarity with SAP and CMMS systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills

Responsibilities
