About The Position

Windsor is seeking motivated individuals who want to develop their technical skills in instrumentation & controls while supporting electrical engineering design across municipal, industrial, and building projects. The Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Engineer will contribute to control system design, electrical system development, and multidisciplinary project coordination. This role includes significant involvement in instrumentation and PLC-based control systems, along with participation in construction support and onsite startup and commissioning of control systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a similar degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience
  • 2-6 years of relevant experience in instrumentation & controls or electrical design.
  • Interest in industrial control systems and PLC-based automation.
  • Proficiency with standard industry software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and/or Revit.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits and control system startup/commissioning support as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A valid driver’s license and your own transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with PLC or HMI systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support instrumentation and control system design for municipal and industrial facilities.
  • Prepare and update P&IDs, control narratives, I/O lists, instrument lists, and technical specifications.
  • Develop wiring diagrams, loop drawings, panel layouts, and control system architecture drawings.
  • Support PLC panel and field instrumentation design, including device selection and specification.
  • Support electrical system design including power distribution, equipment connections, and general building systems.
  • Assist with preparation of drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Perform drafting and modeling in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural disciplines to produce complete and constructible design documents.
  • Support construction-phase services including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site visits.
  • Participate in onsite startup and commissioning of PLC-based control systems, including field verification, loop checks, testing support, and documentation.
  • Provide quality control support in accordance with Windsor’s Quality Management Plan.
  • Continue developing knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, PLC hardware, and industrial control technologies.
