About The Position
WSG Energy Services is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Technician to support field-level pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for an urgent 40MW temporary power project in Texas, with anticipated transition into a larger 200MW power generation project. The Electrical Commissioning Technician is responsible for the safe execution of electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in the field. This role supports energization, system verification, and start-up of temporary and permanent power systems and reports to the Electrical Commissioning Lead or Supervisor.
Requirements
- Electrical Journeyman ticket or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in commissioning or completions environments
- Strong safety awareness and teamwork skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience with power generation or industrial electrical systems preferred
Responsibilities
- Participate in all site safety programs, meetings, and hazard assessments
- Ensure permits, FLHAs, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements are followed
- Support energization of E-houses and electrical systems
- Perform motor runs, VFD programming support, interlock testing, and troubleshooting
- Execute static and dynamic commissioning activities
- Complete walkdowns, punch lists, and field verification
- Complete commissioning check sheets and turnover documentation
- Support PSSR activities and system readiness reviews
- Assist vendors and commissioning leads during start-up
- Support installation and operation of temporary power systems
- Assist with winterization, EHT support, and equipment preservation
