We are a Manufacturing Depot that provides sustainment support of legacy Raytheon magnetics products for the Aegis and Patriot Radar systems. We build and repair Electrical Transformers, Power Supplies, and other Magnetic assemblies. Some of the tasks performed here are Transformer Coil Winding, Electrical Assembly, Soldering, Encapsulation, Welding/Machining, and Electrical Testing. A successful candidate will become part of a small, experienced team that is focused on providing quality products to the warfighter. Being our focus is sustainment of fielded systems, our work directly supports the warfighter mission daily. As part of our team, you will be working a 9/80 schedule. A coil winder job typically involves operating machinery to wind yarn, wire, or other materials. This can include tasks like threading materials into winding machines, running computer programs to control the winding process, and performing quality checks. In some cases, winder jobs may also involve minor repairs to the winding machinery. Precisely winding various types of transformer coils according to established specifications, ensuring optimal performance.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using hand tools
  • J-STD-001 certification
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings

Responsibilities

  • Operate coil winding machines such as heavy-duty winder, star winder, toroidal winder to wind wire coils and other materials for transformers according to specifications, often using specialized techniques and tools.
  • Prepare components, such as stators, wires, cores, coil tubes for winding.
  • Apply insulation, soldering leads and other components in accordance with J-STD-001, and trimming materials.
  • Inspect finished coils and components for defects and conduct tests to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Disassemble and assemble coil winding machine, repair electrical components, and maintain machinery.
  • Follow work orders, record production data, and ensure adherence to quality control standards.
  • Attach, alter, and trim materials such as wire, insulation, and coils, using hand tools.
  • Cut, strip, and bend wire leads at ends of coils, using pliers and wire scrapers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Following safety procedures and keeping the workspace organized.
