About The Position

As an Electrical Assembler at Viking Engineering, you will play a key role in building the large, intricate, and high‑performance machinery our customers rely on every day. You will wire electrical components, interpret engineering blueprints, and ensure every assembly meets Viking's rigorous safety, quality, and performance standards. Your craftsmanship directly impacts our customers' success - and that's something we take seriously.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and follow basic work instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to work with fractions.
  • 1+ year of experience in a related field.
  • Strong electrical aptitude with the ability to read and understand engineering blueprints and schematics.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and strong communication skills - qualities we value in the Viking family.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and gantry cranes.
  • Comfort working with limited supervision while maintaining high standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Two‑year technical degree in Automation & Manufacturing Technology or a related field.
  • 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience with GE or B&R PLC programming and components.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following all safety protocols and proactively communicating concerns to leadership.
  • Build electrical assemblies and PLC controls using engineering blueprints, schematics, and detailed work instructions.
  • Communicate any required changes or modifications to ensure equipment is assembled correctly; identify and report non‑conformities.
  • Test and inspect assemblies to confirm they function as intended and meet design specifications prior to system testing.
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues that arise during assembly or testing.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow team members in the assembly department to maintain workflow and ensure build accuracy.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with Viking's documented quality system procedures and work instructions.
