What You Will Be Doing: Perform wiring and assembly operations involving intricate and precise HVAC electrical assemblies following strict inspection requirements and critical operational tolerances. Candidate must be highly experienced in all essential duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Six months of related low-voltage electrical experience

Nice To Haves

  • One year certificate from college or technical school in related field

Responsibilities

  • Conduct machine wiring processes, including installation of wire ways; wiring of operator control panels; and mounting of components and boxes.
  • Complete panel wiring by mounting components; cutting and mounting din rails and wire ducts; selecting and running wire; mounting panel to enclosure; and interconnecting main panels.
  • Make decisions regarding the best way to run wiring as they are being built.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical schematics and unit drawings.
  • Understanding of Actuator operation and pneumatic measurement locations.
  • Mechanically fabricate, modify, and attach small mechanical components using power tools.
  • Complete sub-assemblies by assembling junction boxes, panels, components, and operator stations. Wire components, operator stations, and tie-in components to junction boxes.
  • Ability to set up actuators for required operation based on the description in electrical drawing, understand the wiring of multiple dampers on the same shaft and different shafts, wiring of limit switches, transducers.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration equipment components and their locations.
  • Troubleshoot circuits.
  • Understanding of Submittal document and ability to pull relevant information as it pertains to the electrical installation, such as filter depth, Nema ratings, curb height, equipment access.
  • Prepare machine for shipment, including electrical dismantling of components.
  • Prepare the machine for startup and test by visually inspecting wiring, applying proper power, checking inputs and outputs, rotating the machine, and performing quality control measures.
  • Communicate solutions, participate in compiling documentation, complete Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), etc.
  • Maintain quality of machine and components while assembling.
  • Adhere to electrical assembly standards.
  • Inform supervision of progress and specific need.
  • Maintain accuracy of assembly work instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, electrical schematics, and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Can read the electrical Bill of Materials to verify the proper component installation.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
