About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks an professional, innovative and detailed individual to join our team as an experienced Mechanical Designer. If you would like to learn new technology for designing parts, then this position may be for you! A typical day as a Mechanical Designer may include: Creating detailed designs and preparing CAD data. Coordinate changes to existing designs. Assisting engineers in preparing detailed CAD drawings and supporting project documentation for projects of basic complexity. This job may be for you if you have: An engineering Tech/CAD Tech degree or equivalent. Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD drafting. Working knowledge of electrical engineering technology fundamentals. Strong problem-solving skills. Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills. Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Requirements
