Purpose: Under limited supervision, this position functions as a compliance professional with respect to electric industry planning criteria, Reliability Standards, market rules and operating guides (“Reliability Requirements”) adopted by pertinent regulatory authorities as they relate to Austin Energy’s transmission and/or generation functions. This position is responsible for assisting operational organizations in managing and overseeing programs to comply with electric industry Reliability Requirements implemented by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), Texas Reliability Entity (Texas RE) and Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT). Notes to Candidate: Under limited supervision, the Electric Reliability Operations & Planning Compliance Analyst Sr. functions as a compliance professional with respect to electric industry regulatory requirements including NERC reliability standards, Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT) market rules, protocols and operating guides and Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) rules. This role will manage and oversee Operations and Planning (O&P) compliance activities to assist work groups in complying with applicable Regulatory Requirements. This position has been designated as a Critical Employee position. Critical Employees are considered necessary and vital and supports activities that impact City or department operations. This work can be done while at a designated work site or while working at an alternate work location. Critical employees who are able to work at an alternative work location are required to do so. Schedules may be modified, and employees may be reassigned to another area during extraordinary situations or emergency conditions to provide essential services.
