The Department of Statistics seeks to hire a graduate or undergraduate student as a part-time hourly Research Assistant during Spring/Summer 2026. The successful candidates will provide assistance with statistical research mainly focused on evaluating possible reforms to U.S. electoral systems, such as proportional representation and single transferable vote. Applicants should have extensive experience with the R programming language and an interest in electoral reform. Alternatively, applicants with extensive experience in formal modeling in political science and some R experience will be considered as well. Up to 100 total hours of work are anticipated, with a pay rate of $30 per hour. Applications will be received and reviewed on a rolling basis, with work to begin immediately after hiring.
