For nearly 85 years, we've designed, built and maintained amphibious ships, destroyers, and cutters for the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard. The largest supplier of U.S. Navy surface combatants, we're simultaneously building four classes of ships and have pioneered the development and production of technologically advanced, highly capable ships for the surface Navy fleet for decades. A Marine Electrician is responsible for the layout, installation and repair of shipboard cables, lighting, electronic equipment, as well as the ships power, will perform burning processes and tack/weld job tasking as it relates to installation of electrical equipment and attachments utilizing hand and power tools along with blue prints, drawings and schematics. A Marine Electrical will be required to work either day or night (various shifts) dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time. Shipyard production areas involve working at different heights, confined spaces, all weather conditions. Ingalls stresses the practice of working safely in all situations.
