Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking an EL Teacher at DORS South for the 2026-2027 school year. Full-Time, Monday - Thursday (12:00pm - 8:00pm) and Fridays (8:00am - 4:00pm) EL Teachers at Christel House DORS have the autonomy to try innovative strategies in their classrooms to reach all types of learners. Teachers support the whole child, teaching character education and social and emotional learning strategies to students to support their development beyond academics. Teachers are supported by interventionists, instructional coaches, lead teachers, on-site social workers and counselors, and a staff that thrives on collaborating and improving within the school community.

Requirements

  • Valid IN Teaching License
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Competency in using technology in the classroom setting.
  • Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • A strong belief in the mission and goals of Christel House Indianapolis.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students
  • Establish classroom norms and procedures to facilitate a cooperative learning environment
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use data to inform instructional strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and communication
  • Facilitate student conferences, maintain regular communication with students regarding grades, attendance and any other pertinent topics
  • Participate in appropriate professional activities
  • Work collaboratively within and across teams, maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.
