About The Position
The EL/Bilingual Resource Teacher shall provide instruction to help potentially English proficient (PEP) students develop cognitive, academic, language abilities in order to function at grade level in a monolingual English class.
Requirements
- Illinois Professional Educator License
- Transitional Bilingual Approval
- English as a Second Language Endorsement or license
- Background in Language Arts
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English
- Experiences in intercultural mediation
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess academic level, language proficiency level, cultural history, linguistic history of students who may be/are eligible for bilingual services.
- Make recommendations as to the best placement within the Transitional Bilingual Program (full time or part time)
- Provide direct bilingual and English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) instruction to students
- Participate in the Child Study Team meetings and staffings of potentially English proficient students.
