About The Position

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region's only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement. The Cardiology services at Straub are among the best in the State, and encompass specialty care including non-invasive diagnostics, EKG, Treadmill and Echocardiogram Imaging for both clinic and hospital in-patients. Our EKG department includes specially trained technicians and qualified physicians who employ state-of-the-art EKG technology and imaging techniques for accurate diagnosis and appropriate patient care plan development. If you are detail-oriented, skilled with biomedical equipment and enjoy providing quality diagnostic services and professional patient care, you could be our next EKG Technician. Working as a member of the EKG team to perform routine EKG duties, you should be able to competently structure your own work patterns between clinic and hospital floors. We are looking for someone organized and careful, with excellent technical protocol and patient care skills, who shares our commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai'i's people.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card
  • Completion of EKG course
  • Experience working with patients in a clinical setting

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of signal average EKG, pacemakers, TST
  • Six (6) to twelve (12) months experience performing EKGs
