About The Position

Position Summary: The EKG Technician is responsible for performing Electrocardiograms (EKG’s) on adult and pediatric patients, prepares and places Holter Monitors, Event Monitors/Mobile Cardiac Telemetry Monitors, Tilt Table Tests. Technician will also assist with scheduling outpatients for the Cardiopulmonary Care Department. This is a full time position, 40 hours per week. Salary commensurate with experience.

Requirements

Experience preferred, but we will train.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment.
Ability to communicate with patients of all age ranges.
Ability to communicate professionally with staff and providers.
Basic computer operation, requiring charge entry and task documentation.
BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

Collects data on assigned patients as directed by the physician’s orders, and following the policy and procedures of the Cardiopulmonary Care department.
Follows guidelines for reporting critical values to nursing or providers.
Demonstrate competency in selected skills and equipment use.
Educates patients on what to expect during their test(s).
Performs accurate documentation in accordance with hospital guidelines.
Contacting patients to schedule outpatient testing.
Cleans and maintains equipment
Communicates all pertinent information including findings, problems, concerns or ideas to Department Director.
Promotes a constructive/atmosphere within the work area by demonstrating the ability to cooperate with and assist fellow team members as well as patients and their families.
Remains flexible in cooperation with staffing patterns and scheduling needs for provision of care. This includes call scheduling, and performing other duties as assigned.
