About The Position

As the EIT Engineering Team Lead for the Accumulator Integration team, you will lead a skilled group of engineers responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and reliable processing of accumulator data—core to claims adjudication, benefits administration, and member cost‑share accuracy. This role is essential to maintaining operational stability across multiple business lines and requires a leader who can enhance data‑integration workflows, drive automation, and ensure adherence to enterprise SLAs. You will foster a culture built on integrity, respect, and continuous development—bringing clarity, decisiveness, and strong technical leadership to a team supporting complex, high‑impact processes. The ideal candidate excels at balancing daily operational demands with long‑term improvements, empowering engineers while building resilient systems that support the organization's mission. Required skills: C# .NET PowerShell Microsoft SQL Server File‑based data exchange patterns (NCPDP, X12) Note: This is a fully remote role; however, onsite interviews at our Chattanooga, TN headquarters are required. This role requires an on‑call rotation once every five weeks. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Sciences related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 year - Experience with information technology concepts, application development and/or enterprise system maintenance methodology, terminology, and standards required
  • 5 years – Systems maintenance and/or programming experience required
  • 3 year - Expert working knowledge of at least one programming language and/or one enterprise system in use at BCBST
  • Knowledge of information technology concepts, methodology, terminology, and standards.
  • Proven Skill to develop and/or maintain an enterprise IT system
  • Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in one or more enterprise IT systems
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Microsoft Office and email skills are required
  • Adaptive to high pace and changing environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers.
  • Must be willing to adjust schedule to plan and perform maintenance and upgrades outside of business hours and be part of an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of a team with a focus on the maintenance and development of systems and supervising system modifications.
  • Assigns, monitors, and reviews progress and accuracy of work.
  • Provides staff management oversight including hiring, promoting, or making recommendations for staff.
  • Conducts performance reviews and assessments, manages performance, engages in skills assessment, and promotes professional development of staff.
  • Directs, motivates, and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, professional growth, and ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.
  • Ensures adherence to policies, plans, objectives, budgets and staffing allocations.
  • Manages and tracks team-level project details and serves as the technical subject matter expert and provides leadership during periods of transition.
  • Employees may be required to participate in a weekly on-call rotation.
