About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive EHS Technician to support and promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace in our welding and fabrication operations. The EHS Technician plays a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting safety culture, and reducing risk through daily oversight, inspections, training, and incident response. Level I: Quality - Complete and accurate work performed efficiently Production quality and efficiency using appropriate tools and equipment, qualified to perform special processes as needed Consistently meets customer's quality requirements and expectations. Follow instructions - oral and/or written Performs other duties as assigned by the EHS Manager, or his/her designate. Safety & housekeeping Work may require use of scaffold, ladders, forklift, and/or scissor lift. Maintains a clean work area with no clutter. Practices safety at all times while at work. Follows safety policies and procedures and speaks up when others are non-compliant. Wears all safety equipment for area of work. Continual Improvement suggestions Keeps an open mind to others continuous improvement suggestions Bring continuous improvement suggestions to the appropriate team member. Professional Development Demonstrates initiative, positive attitude, and enthusiasm for the job Will follow up with supervisor on professional development goals and opportunities Takes an interest and lets it be known that they have a desire to grow with the company

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or certification in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related filed (Bachelor's degree a plus).
  • 1-3 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in manufacturing, welding or fabrication environments.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Must have proficiency in MS office applications including spreadsheet, enterprise resource planning, database, and specialized application software.
  • Must have proficiency in EHS tracking/reporting systems.
  • Ability and willingness to abide by set policies and/or safety programs established by GHM, our clients, and/or regulatory agencies which govern our performance and behavior in the normal course of our work while on GHM or the client's property or job site.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to successfully plan and implement objectives within established timelines and work schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with safety equipment, PPE, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry & Hot work Permits.
