Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a EHS Technician. The hourly rate for this position is a range between $23.60 - $35.40 per hour. The hours for the first shift are as follows; 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you’ll do: PRIMARY FUNCTION Eaton Aerospace Group located in Los Angeles, CA (near Glendale metro) has an opening for an Environmental Health and Safety Technician. The LA facility has approximately 250 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. The Environmental Health & Safety Technician is responsible for implementing and maintaining regulatory requirements relating to OSHA, RCRA, EPA, and DOT, as well as working with engineers and technicians daily to ensure our Eaton Los Angeles facility can support the focus factories cadence goals while meeting all environmental, health, and safety objectives ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform tasks related to Contractor Management Program, Security and Badges Perform weekly site security inspections Ensure all contractors review Contractor Safety Manual and sign Agreement form prior to entering facility. Accurately record and maintain safety agreement forms and visitor logs Recognize requirements and ensure compliance to safety programs and standards including hazard communication, slip/trip/falls, fall protection, confined space, hot work, respiratory protection, lockout/tag-out (LOTO), machine guarding, power and hand-held tools, electrical, emergency shower and eyewash, and chemical management. Perform boots on the ground safety oversight by identifying and correcting workplace hazards and unsafe conditions Identify workplace safety hazards and conditions for job-related tasks Maintain and implement compliance of site-specific safety policies Perform hazardous and non-hazardous waste management including proper handling, labeling, and storage. Monitor waste at satellite accumulation areas and move full containers to Central Accumulation Area (CAA). Order and maintain adequate spill supplies: spill pads, empty drums, secondary containment, and other equipment necessary to maintain safe handling and correct disposal of hazardous waste. Help manage the storage of hazardous waste Assist Facility staff with campus-wide, multiple-trade projects Communicate and collaborate with production engineers, production management, internal and external trades on project timelines Assist with other campus-wide operations and maintenance programs assigned by facilities management
