You will play a pivotal role in shaping and sustaining the plant’s safety culture by partnering closely with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams. Through collaboration, coaching, and data‑driven problem‑solving, the you will help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while embedding EHS principles into everyday operational excellence. You will lead critical safety and environmental initiatives within a complex, matrixed manufacturing environment. You’ll own and elevate EHS processes and be a strategic partner across functional departments. This position is ideal for an early‑career professional with 1–3 years of experience who excels at influencing without authority, driving continuous improvement, and championing EHS values across diverse teams. The successful candidate brings curiosity, initiative, and a strong sense of ownership to elevate both safety performance and employee engagement. How You Will Do It: Process Ownership & Compliance Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA and state/local regulatory requirements. Implement EHS policies and procedures aligned with OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards (14001/ 45001/ 9001) Conduct routine audits, inspections, and risk assessments across plant operations Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses (JHA, HAZOP), and ergonomic evaluations Develop, update, and implement EHS policies, procedures, and training programs. Ensure compliance across multiple reporting lines and operational units within a matrixed structure Prepare and submit required environmental reports (air, water, waste, hazardous materials).Gather data for environmental reporting, waste characterization, and regulatory submissions Participate in incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. Participate in EHS audits and risk assessments Partner with JCI Legal on regulatory and compliance topics Data management within EHS information system Culture & Engagement Be a “Commitment to Safety” Champion through behavior-based safety programs and peer-led accountability Facilitate safety committees and employee engagement forums to build ownership across roles and departments Influence plant and functional leaders to integrate EHS priorities into daily decision-making Training & Communication Deliver tailored EHS training programs that resonate with both direct and indirect stakeholders Support behavior‑based safety initiatives and promote employee engagement in EHS programs. Communicate safety goals, performance metrics, and improvement plans transparently to multiple layers of leadership Provide coaching and mentorship to cross-functional teams, helping them champion EHS in their own domains Performance & Analytics Identify hazards and drive engineering and administrative controls to reduce risk Partner with engineering and operations teams on equipment design reviews and process changes. Lead or support Kaizen, 5S, and other continuous improvement efforts related to safety and environmental performance. Track and analyze EHS metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Track leading indicators such as near-misses, safety observations, and training compliance Use lagging indicators to validate program effectiveness and identify improvement areas Drive KPI performance What We Look For:
