PURPOSE: The Entry-Level EHS Specialist provides foundational support to the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) function at the site level. This position is responsible for assisting in daily safety activities, supporting the implementation of EHS programs, promoting hazard awareness and prevention across work areas and the ability to understand environmental policies with the ability to communicate them to operators in the facility. Under the direction of EHS leadership, the role helps ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements while gaining practical experience in EHS operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Support the daily execution and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs, including PPE, ergonomics, and LOTO compliance. Coordinate and maintain critical EHS documentation, including binders, logs, forms, and digital records to ensure audit readiness. Conduct routine safety walks and workplace inspections to identify hazards, unsafe behaviors, and compliance gaps. Report, track, and help resolve safety concerns by coordinating with appropriate personnel and initiating corrective actions. Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), procedures, and safety checklists. Promote a strong safety culture by encouraging hazard reporting, near-miss documentation, and employee engagement. Support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking to ensure timely resolution and prevention. Facilitate EHS training efforts by organizing sessions, tracking completion, and maintaining accurate training records. Communicate safety policies, updates, and key performance indicators (KPIs) across the site through postings and direct engagement. Assist with emergency preparedness activities, including drills, equipment inspections, and evacuation coordination. Maintain accurate EHS data systems by entering inspection, training, and incident data and supporting reporting dashboards. Participate in environmental compliance efforts, including inspections, chemical management, and documentation of waste and regulatory requirements. As appropriate, submits Capital Equipment requests with cost qualifications. Other duties as assigned.
