Could you be the full-time onsite PI EHS Site Advisor in Philadelphia, PA, US we’re looking for? Your future role "Take on a new challenge and apply your Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and dedicated teammates. You'll make a meaningful impact by ensuring compliance with EHS rules and fostering a safe and sustainable work environment for both Alstom employees and contractors during the testing and commissioning phases of equipment and trains. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (permit offices, supervisors, employees/contractors, and the prime contractor), conduct inspections and monitoring on-site, support risk assessments, and much more."
Requirements
- Degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience or understanding of EHS practices, with a minimum of 2 years in Environment, Health & Safety.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO45001 standards.
- Familiarity with construction or railway industry environments.
- A certification or communication skill: Strong written English communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Office tools (Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong teamwork and people skills.
- Initiative, action-driven mindset, and the ability to coach and influence others.
- Analytical thinking with a rigorous and detail-oriented approach.
Responsibilities
- Performing inspections and monitoring on-site activities to ensure safety compliance.
- Overseeing work permits and ensuring adherence to required protocols.
- Supporting employees and contractors in conducting risk assessments.
- Providing coaching and guidance to supervisors regarding EHS best practices.
- Delivering EHS induction sessions for contractors and employees.
- Managing contractors and ensuring their compliance with EHS standards.
- Organizing and participating in EHS committee activities.
- Investigating accidents, following up on actions, and implementing corrective measures.
- Preparing and broadcasting monthly toolbox talks.
- Reviewing and qualifying contractor EHS documentation and monitoring compliance.
