We have an opportunity for self-motivated Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Senior Manager to support our ongoing compliance and risk reduction efforts based in Raytheon’s Tucson, AZ region. Reporting to the Tucson Region EHS Associate Director, you’ll oversee a team of ~10 EHS employees and will be responsible for the implementation of Industrial Hygiene (IH), Ergonomic, Fire/Life and Contractor Safety programs in a region covering 3 sites – Palo Verde, Rita Road and Airport totaling over 15,000 employees. Requirements

  • Typically Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience
  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Knowledge and the application of the principals of regulatory requirements.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and programs in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate effective prioritization and implementation skills.
  • Experience managing IH, Occupational Health, and Ergonomic Programs
  • Previous experience partnering and solving problems with functional leaders or bargaining units
  • Experience with bargaining units, contractor safety and fire/life protection
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience working at an OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) site.
  • Ability to provide clear, concise, and effective verbal communications.
  • Professional Certification in the EHS field (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of EHS professionals to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and the RTX and RAY EH&S requirements for safety, IH, asset protection, contractor safety and ergonomic programs
  • Strategize, motivate, and lead the team to meet the goals. Be flexible and adapt as priorities shift.
  • Identify pain points and barriers for team members and develop/implement the strategy to remove them
  • Partner with local functional leaders to streamline processes or resolve problems where EHS is a stakeholder or is affected.
  • Take proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influence safe behaviors.
  • Execute initiatives, programs, reports, and training across multiple EH&S disciplines, as required to achieve and maintain compliance.
  • Maintains EH&S Management System Conformance
  • Achieves and maintains consistency of EH&S record keeping and documentation with organizational and regulatory policy
  • Investigate, analyze, and interpret data from injuries and near-misses ensuring corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is in place.
  • Build partnerships with employees of all levels, promote relationships, learn the tasks employees perform and be known as a resource to the employees at the site to provide actionable improvement programs.
