About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our organization’s efforts in maintaining a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, and sustaining comprehensive safety programs to ensure the highest level of employee protection and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on leader who thrives on daily engagement across departments and is passionate about fostering a strong safety culture. A relocation sign-on bonus may be available for the right candidate.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Technical expertise with the ability to apply continuous improvement principles while maintaining high safety standards.
  • Confidence in handling difficult conversations related to safety and behavioral compliance.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Relevant manufacturing and safety experience appropriate to the position level.
  • Experience with regulatory audits (internal and/or external).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general digital tools.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing plant conditions (noise, dust, dirt, oil, grease).
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or related field.
  • 3+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment OR 5+ years of demonstrated safety leadership in manufacturing.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
  • Project management skills and ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Plant Engineering and Occupational Health to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and work practices through inspections and audits.
  • Provide guidance and counsel regarding regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate safety training programs for new hires and existing employees, including annual training requirements.
  • Compile, analyze, and report accident, injury, and property damage data.
  • Lead and coordinate safety committee initiatives.
  • Develop and implement hazard control systems; measure effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Manage safety supply inventory and training resources.
  • Oversee recordkeeping and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents; determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Promote and reinforce a proactive safety culture across the organization.
  • Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions exist and ensure concerns are promptly addressed.
  • Collaborate with peers across other facilities as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
