About The Position

Dauch is looking for an EHS Representative to join our team in Fraser, MI. This is a fully onsite position on the first shift. The Representative of Environmental Health and Safety at Dauch is responsible for programs that protect associates, visitors, and the environment from hazards at the facility. This role is involved in the planning, coordinating, and directing environmental and health activities to ensure associate engagement, regulatory compliance and implement the EHS management system to protect both human health and the environment. Job Description: Implements and monitors EHS programs ensuring appropriate federal, state, and locally mandated requirements are met with support of EHS team. Leads through influence by delegating effectively, developing others, and creating ownership for outcomes across the team. Assures mechanisms for assessing and addressing risks or hazards to plant personnel and environment are in place and effective. Monitors existing infrastructure and processes for compliance and potential risks or hazards. Conducts periodic EHS inspections as part of a layered audit process. Coordinates permits from federal and state agencies. Reviews reports and documentation; participates in internal and external audits including, but not limited to ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 45001. Oversees investigations of causes of accidents, injuries, or illnesses; assures reports of findings and solutions for minimizing or preventing recurrence are completed in a timely manner with support of Senior EHS Professionals. Leads the process of preparing for, mitigating, responding to, and recovering from emergencies. Maintains communications with local emergency-service providers (fire, police, paramedics, etc.). Ensures that outside emergency services are contacted when necessary. Analyzes safety data trends and recommends corrective strategies to implement. Manages corporate-mandated Safety, Environmental and Sustainability initiatives. Leads training by clearly presenting content, demonstrating processes and regulations, and ensuring team members build the skills and knowledge needed to perform safely and effectively. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, Environmental Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading EHS programs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to clarify, quantify and document complex requirements and embrace changes/adaptions through the entire EHS lifecycle.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong auditing skills.
