About The Position

The EHS Leader for PGS - responsible for leading the business unit (BU) development and execution of EHS programs, compliance systems, auditing programs, and data reporting processes. This role ensures alignment with U.S. and global EHS regulations, oversees ISO certification management for the BU, cross functional collaboration with other BUs, and supports customer compliance requirements at our customer outage sites and other external / internal facilities. As a key member of the EHS team, the role requires a combination of strategic vision, hands-on implementation experience to build a culture of psychological safety, safety as a core value and overall EHS stewardship. Outlines a role for oversight and commitment to the development, implementation, and administration of Environmental, Health and Safety management systems and compliance initiatives across Mitsubishi Power’s Power Generation Services internal and external portfolio customer. The role serves as the subject matter expert, aligning EH&S goals across the business unit and driving continuous improvement in EH&S performance.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety or Engineering (Bachelors acceptable).
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in EHS leadership roles, with a focus on systems and compliance within a complex, global organization.
  • Professional certifications such as Board of Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CIH or CHMM
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. and international EHS laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification management.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Proficiency in EHS Insights software and or equivalent solutions.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel 60%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the PGS EHS Team. Responsible for BU EHS systems, data reporting, and programmatic support.
  • Foster a high-performance culture that emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with EHS team leads to continuously improve global EHS management systems to ensure compliance tracking, risk mitigation, and performance transparency.
  • Support the strategic development and integration of digital tools for auditing, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with U.S. (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and international EHS regulations and standards.
  • Develop and sustain robust governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to support legal and ethical business practices.
  • Lead corporate-level EHS auditing functions, including planning, execution, corrective action tracking, and compliance verification.
  • Establish and maintain metrics dashboards and performance KPIs to measure EHS effectiveness and compliance across global operations.
  • Support and manage certification and maintenance efforts for ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant EHS standards.
  • Champion EHS continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on process efficiency, data integrity, and risk reduction.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Operations, Supply Chain, and Site EHS leaders to align compliance strategies with business priorities.
  • Provide strategic counsel and regular updates to executive leadership on compliance status, risks, and improvement plans.
