About The Position

As a Lead Environmental Health & Safety Specialist you will work toward developing policies to identify/reduce hazardous conditions. You will investigate environmental incidents and partner with engineers, management, and environmental regulatory authorities. You will maintain relationships with the community, environmental groups, and other partners impacted by the environmental performance of the organization. You will lead in the technical space as a recognized expert that helps the global organization implement the programs. Responsibilities typically include managing large projects or processes. You will report to the Sr EHS Manager and be located in Ogden, UT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, engineering, safety or related degrees.
  • 5+ Years of Experience
  • Clean Air Act, Title V, RMP regulations
  • ISO 14001, Environmental Management System
  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, solid and hazardous waste management and minimization, corrective action/legacy management plan
  • Naturally occurring radioactive materials licensing and remediation
  • Groundwater plume monitoring and corrective action
  • Clean Water Act, wastewater management, permitting and minimization, surface impoundments
  • Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, TRI
  • Work with state and federal regulatory officials and manage consent decrees and special agreements
  • Spill Prevention, Countermeasures and Controls program
  • Stormwater Management

Responsibilities

  • Bring all environmental issues to regulatory compliance and conformance to the EHS Management System.
  • Report on performance of the environmental group to the Sr EHS Manager for review and as the basis for improvement.
  • Report and shares site company and industry environmental data, metrics, best practices and lessons learned relevant to environmental management and communicates to local and global EHS.
  • Ensure that all required environmental compliance monitoring data is collected, maintained, and transmitted in a timely manner.
  • Lead environmental incident investigations or reviews and ensure adequacy of environmental training.
  • Prepare site to implement environmental and emergency processes in the event of an environmental/emergency incident.
  • Facilitate environmental audits, assessments and identifies, implements, and/or partners with sites.
  • Manage all aspects of environmental contractors.
