We are seeking to add an energetic and motivated EHS Specialist to our safety team for our Channelview, TX office. Reporting to the Safety Manager, the EHS Specialist would be the eyes and ears of the company in the field. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for providing support to the project management team and field personnel. This position will provide leadership and coordination of the day-to-day safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or 5+ years of relevant experience with safety certification.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar industry with progressive leadership responsibility.
  • Solid knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • OSHA 10 Hour Course, OSHA 30 Hour Course
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to learn company software systems.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam and wear required PPE as needed.
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • TWIC Card required
  • Ability to perform manual labor (i.e. heavy lifting, confined space entry, working at heights, out in the elements, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Safety certifications such as SHEP, CSHO, COSS, or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Site management, will travel to project sites to complete safety observations and training.
  • Conduct job safety observations (SHARPs), incident investigations, and track corrective actions.
  • Lead and support all safety meetings, trainings, and compliance refreshers.
  • Maintain accurate safety records including training, medical, DOT, and driver files.
  • Analyze safety data and report trends, deficiencies, and participation metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, DEQ, and corporate safety standards.
  • Oversee contractor qualifications, SDS maintenance, and quarterly hose testing.
  • Partner with supervisors and clients to review and improve safe work practices.
  • Participate in facility audits, turnarounds, shutdowns, and client safety meetings.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees regarding safety protocols.
  • Set up drug testing and physical testing for new hires and current employee's
  • Remain available for flexible scheduling and after-hours support during emergencies.
