About The Position

The EHS Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and implementing all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs at our poultry processing facility. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements while driving a proactive, people-first safety culture. The EHS Manager partners closely with plant leadership to reduce risk, strengthen safety performance, and promote continuous improvement across all departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, food processing, or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and EHS management systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence change within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CSP, OHST or other recognized certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage plant EHS program to maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state/local requirements.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses.
  • Investigate incidents, lead root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee environmental programs including wastewater, stormwater, air quality, and waste management.
  • Maintain required safety and environmental documentation, permits, and reporting.
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation claims and track injury and illness statistics to help identify safety concerns by trend analysis and provide recommendations to minimize these concerns.
  • Interact with third-party administrator and their personnel to provide/receive updates on WC claims.
  • Interact with outside legal counsel, where necessary, to provide/receive updates on pending workers’ compensation claims, including those in litigation.
  • Deliver safety training and engage employees to strengthen the plant’s safety culture.
  • Partner with operations and maintenance to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
