About The Position

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards. This role drives continuous improvement in safety culture, environmental stewardship, and occupational health practices at the manufacturing site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and local environmental regulations; experience managing compliance programs and audits.
  • Proficiency in EHS management systems, ISO certifications, risk assessment tools, and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels, strong presentation and training skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Skilled in planning, organizing, and executing EHS initiatives within budget and timelines.
  • First Aid/CPR, Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER), and other relevant safety certifications preferred.
  • Up to 20% travel may be required to support EHS across the business unit.
  • Long periods of time on the shop floor exposed to manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to stand/sit for extended periods of time

  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain site EHS programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards.
  • Lead risk assessments and hazard analyses; implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain integrated Management System that support requirements for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Monitor and report EHS performance metrics, including incident rates and audit findings.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety culture and environmental practices.
  • Conduct training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective measures.
  • Manage regulatory inspections and audits, ensuring timely responses and corrective actions.
  • Oversee waste management, emissions control, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to integrate EHS considerations into daily activities.
  • Ensure a high state of readiness of fire safety equipment, infrastructure, and responders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of permits, compliance records, and EHS management systems.
  • Conduct specialized safety and environmental training programs to communicate hazard control information.
  • Develop and conduct new-hire occupational health, safety, and environmental orientation.
  • Compile, analyze, and report accident, loss, and exposure statistical data.
  • Maintain chemical inventory SDS.
  • Coordinate annual hearing and respiratory tests (scheduling, compliance, medical exams when warranted) as required by regulation.
  • Direct environmental compliance programs related to hazardous waste, air permitting, water pollution control, and community right-to-know programs.
  • Incorporate essential occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements in all purchasing and control actions.
