Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence. As an EHS Manager, you will provide mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities related to a medium-to-large facility. This role is an active member of the Clayton Leadership team involved in determining and supporting facility strategy and daily operations. Additional Information: This role is located in Clayton, OH and offers relocation This role is 100% on-site with no opportunities for hybrid or remote schedules This role requires up to 10% domestic travel

Requirements

  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
  • Sustainability: Knowledge of sustainability strategy; ability to integrate sustainability into the overall business strategy of the organization to build a sustainable business model.
  • Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to safety and environmental risks; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. Effectively manages resistance to change.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in EHS management in a mid-to-large manufacturing or warehousing environment.
  • Environmental, Occupational Health, and/or Safety degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or other certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Identify common and more complex safety, health, and/or environmental hazards inherent in the organization’s operations and establish guidelines for protection from those hazards.
  • Ensure EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
  • Audit safety, health, and environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
  • Lead the Emergency Management plan for the facility and interact with local, state and federal authorities related to safety and environmental response requirements.
  • Manage the Business Continuity Plan for the facility.
  • Act as an active member of the facility leadership team in developing facility strategy and policies.
