About The Position

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining all CFS Brands Environmental, Health, and Safety programs for the manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements while building a strong safety culture that protects employees, supports production, and reduces operational risk. The EHS Manager partners closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership to integrate safety into daily work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, machine safety, and LOTO.
  • Experience leading audits, investigations, and regulatory inspections.
  • This role supports a 24/5 operation with three shifts; flexibility to support all shifts as needed is required, with first shift as the primary schedule.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work directly on the floor with operators, maintenance, and supervisors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable challenging unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site’s safety strategy and drive a proactive, prevention-focused culture.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for machine safety, LOTO, guarding, ergonomics, and hazard control.
  • Facilitate safety committees, Gemba walks, and employee engagement activities.
  • Coach supervisors and managers on their safety leadership responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain required permits, logs, and reports (OSHA 300/300A, training records, SDS, etc.).
  • Prepare for and lead regulatory inspections and corporate audits.
  • Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis.
  • Ensure timely corrective actions and track them to closure.
  • Analyze trends in TRIR, LTIR, near misses, and safety observations.
  • Develop and deliver safety training including but not limited to:
  • Lockout/Tagout
  • Machine Guarding
  • Confined Space
  • Hazard Communication
  • PPE
  • Emergency Response
  • Ensure operators, maintenance, and leaders are trained and competent for their tasks.
  • Conduct job safety analyses (JSA), risk assessments, and (ESRA’s) Equipment Safety Risk Assessments
  • Lead audits of LOTO, guarding, energized work, and contractor safety.
  • Support new equipment installations and process changes with safety reviews.
  • Manage waste streams, air, water, and chemical compliance.
  • Coordinate environmental reporting and sustainability initiatives.
  • Oversee hazardous waste handling and disposal.
  • Track and report safety KPIs to plant leadership and EHS Director.
  • Use data to identify risks, drive continuous improvement, and support executive reporting.
